Dr Yves Lafort, Medical Doctor, M.P.H. with major in Epidemiology (º1960).
HIV/AIDS consultant. Expert in HIV/AIDS response and sexual reproductive health programmes, in particular in the areas of STI control, monitoring and evaluation, surveillance, and operational research.
Yves Lafort's short-term consultancy assignments include design and evaluation of STI/HIV/AIDS programmes, development of national HIV/AIDS M&E frameworks, technical assistance to surveillance and operational research, needs assessments and training in STI care.
Previously, Yves Lafort worked as a long-term technical assistant for the National Mozambican AIDS Council and the Ministry of Health in Swaziland. He was attached to the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp from where he provided technical assistance, for Family Health International, to USAID(IMPACT)-funded STI care programmes. He also worked in the field for several international NGO.
His field experience is mainly focussed on Africa: Mozambique, Swaziland, South Africa, Zambia, Cote d'Ivoire, Rwanda, Namibia, Burkina Faso, Mali, Tanzania, Senegal, The Gambia, Sudan.
